Haran Headlines Award Winners Playing in the Valley League

Current New Market Rebel Gerard Haran leads an extensive list of former and current Valley Baseball League players who were recognized during the 2006 collegiate baseball season.  The award winners include 12 All-Americans, 55 NCAA Division I All-Conference selections, and Haran, the NCAA Division III National Player of the Year.

Haran, a junior catcher from the College of New Jersey, was named Division III Player of the Year by the American Baseball Coaches Association and the Position Player of the Year by the National Collegiate Baseball Writers of America.  The New Jersey Athletic Conference Player of the Year batted .429 with 64 runs scored, 21 doubles, 14 home runs, 64 runs driven in, an .859 slugging percentage, and a .559 on-base percentage.
