Players of the Week Announced

North

Player: Kevin Deese, Fauquier. Deese hit .458 in six games last week for the Gators with 11 hits in 24 at-bats. He also drove in a co-league best eight runs and had two doubles, a triple and a pair of home runs.

Pitcher:  Chad Rothlin, Fauquier. Rothlin was perfect on the week with two saves in two appearances. He did not allow a hit and struck out three in 3.0 total innings of work.

Central

Player:  Bobby Brown, Harrisonburg. Brown hit .435 for the week and led the Valley with four doubles, seven runs scored and 21 total bases. His 10 hits were tied for second in the league.

Pitcher: Heith Hatfield, Woodstock. Hatfield earned his second consecutive POW award this week by striking out seven in a 7.0 innings against Harrisonburg on June 30. Hatfield allowed one run and did not walk a batter in that contest.

South

Pitcher: Aaron Swenson, Staunton. Swenson tossed a complete game on Friday against Haymarket, striking out eight and allowing just two unearned runs on two hits and two walks.

Player: Chris Clinton, Staunton. Clinton led the league in hitting this past week with a .579 average on 11 hits in 19 at-bats. His 11 hits were tied for the best in the loop and he had a .600 on base percentage and a .737 slugging percentage.
