Harrisonburg 6, Rockbridge 1
Harrisonburg got all the offense it would need in the second inning thanks to a three-run homer by Jack Posey, who finished the game 3 for 4 with three runs batted in. The Rapids best chance came in the fifth, but they left the bases loaded. Rayan Gonzalez scattered five hits while striking out nine and walking one.
Luray 5, Waynesboro 3
The Wranglers won their third straight with the road victory at Fishburne Park. Adrian Puig improved to 3-0 this summer by allowing just one run on one hit in six innings of work. He also struck out four.
Pablo Bermudez paced Luray at the plate with three hits in five at-bats while Tony Caldwell drove in two for Waynesboro.
Haymarket 8, Covington 2
Greg Hopkins had three hits and three runs batted in to lead the host Senators to an 8-2 win over Covington. Grant Sasser struck out six in 7.2 innings of action to earn the win.
Ryan Durrance had two hits for the ‘Jacks.
Front Royal 6, New Market 5
Greg Van Sickler and Steve McQuail both had three hits for the homestanding Cards, with McQuail hitting a home run, to push Front Royal past New Market. Kenny Mickens, Seth Kivett and Richard Gonzalez all had two hits for the Rebels.
Fauquier 11, Woodstock 4
Chad Oberacker had four hits and two runs batted in to lead Fauquier to the 11-4 victory at Woodstock. Matt Blow was a perfect 4 for 4 with two RBI for the River Bandits.
Winchester 8, Staunton 5
The Royals scored four runs in the top of the ninth to rally past Staunton in Staunton. Bobby Rauh led the victors with a 2-for-4 effort at the plate, including a two-run homer that tied the game at 2-2. Rauh scored three runs, drove in three runs and stole three bases. Nate Bayuk picked up the win in relief.
John Dishon was 4-for-5 with two RBIs for the Braves
