Rain Claims Half of Schedule

Front Royal 5, Waynesboro 1

Front Royal won for the third straight time and fifth time in the last six games with a 5-1 win at Waynesboro. Shane Galloway earned the win by pitching the first six innings before Josh Varner struck out four over the final three to post his second save of the summer. 

Jared Simon and Buddy Sosnoskie each were 1 for 3 with Simon driving in two and hitting a home run.

Tony Caldwell was 2 for 4 with a double and an RBI for the Generals.

Fauquier 6 Rockbridge 4

Fauquier rallied for four unearned runs in the top of the eighth to earn a 6-4 win over Rockbridge Friday evening.  The big blow in the frame was a two-out, two-run Kevin Deese triple.

Dave Billotte was the winner in relief before JB Black pitched a scoreless ninth to post his fourth save.

Joe Charron had three hits for the Rapids. 

Haymarket 5, Woodstock 1

Grant Sasser snaps the Senators losing streak by scattering six hits and one run in six innings before turning it over to Mark Andrews for the save.

Tom La Stella had two doubles and three runs batted in and Andrew Lawrence single and two doubles for Haymarket.

Harrisonburg vs Covington, ppd rain 7/23

The suspended game from July 9, which was picked up tonight at 6, will continue prior to the July 23 contest. Covington is now up 6-5 and Harrisonburg is batting with one out in the bottom of the 11th.
