Harrisonburg 4, Haymarket 3
The Turks rally for the win with two runs in the seventh and two more in the eighth. Nathan Bryan ended up with the game-winning hit; he drove in Jack Posey with a single.
Mike Schwartz added two hits for the victors while Tom La Stella was 3 for 4 for the Senators.
Front Royal 4, Staunton 1
Front Royal, one of the hottest teams in the Valley, continues its winning ways with a 4-1 vivtory over Staunton. Robert Nixon strikes out seven in 6 2/3 and allows one run on five hits to claim the win.
Aaron Swenson took the loss for Staunton, allowing four runs on seven hits and striking out seven.
Jared Simon led the Cards offense with three hits and three RBI in four at-bats - he missed a cycle by not hitting a triple. Todd Brazeal and Chris Clinton were both 2 for 4 for the Braves.
New Market 6, Fauquier 0
Eric Alessio strikes out six in six innings and Seth Kivett hits a pair of doubles as New Market shuts out Fauquier.
Ryan Gauck was 2 for 4 for the Gators.
Luray 11, Covington 1
A.J. Wirnsberger went 3-for-5 and drove in five runs, including
a two-run homer in the first, powering Luray past Covington,
11-1
Jake Brown pitched the win for the Wranglers.
Woodstock 8, Rockbridge 7, 10 inn.
Steven Hunt scored an unearned run in the bottom of the 10th Sunday night to give Woodstock the extra inning victory over Rockbridge.
Matt Blow and Michael Benton hit homers for the River Bandits while Anthony Melchionda and Scott Colton did the same for Rockbridge.
Winchester 10,Waynesboro 6
Winchester won its league-best ninth straight game with the 10-6 road win at Waynesboro. Timmy Cross was 3 for 4 with two RBI and Aaron Dudley 2 for 5 with two runs batted in for the Royals and Rob Kral and Alex McClure both 3 for 4 for Waynesboro.
