New Market 10, Harrisonburg 9

New Market puts up a six-spot in the first inning and then holds on for the 10-9 win at Harrisonburg. With the win, the Rebels maintain a half-game lead over Luray for first place in the Central.

The two teams combined for 19 runs on 21 hits and seven errors and Zak Messer paced the visitors with three hits in six at-bats while driving in a pair of runs.

Eric Alessio improved to 5-0 this summer by allowing one earned run on three hits in the first five innings.

Luray 5,6 - Woodstock 4,1 (Game one 10 inn.)

Luray stayed on New Market's heels by sweeping a home doubleheader from Woodstock, winning 5-4 in 10 innings in the opener before taking game two 6-1.

Daniel Bowman had three hits and Pablo Bermudez had two RBI for the Wranglers in game one; Bermudez continued his big night with a 2 for 4, 3 RBI performance in the nightcap.

Gerardo Ceceres was 2 for 4 in both games of the double-dip for the River Bandits.

Covington 4, Waynesboro 2
