Winchester 6-0, Fauquier 5-6
Winchester clinches a playoff berth with a 6-5 win in the opening game of a doubleheader with Fauquier when Kevin Garcia drills a walkoff single in the bottom of the seventh. Garcia's single plated Ben Hammer, who had pinch run for Jordan Steranka after Steranka led off the frame with a double to center.
Justin Wilson had two hits for the Gators in the opener.
In the nightcap, Fauquier received a four-hit, complete game performance Jack Van Leur to shut out the Royals. Van Leur struck out eight.
Harrisonburg 12, New Market 3
The Turks keep themselves in the wild card race with an important home victory over New Market. After scoring unearned runs in the first and second and two earned runs in the fourth, Harrisonburg blew things open with a six-run eighth. Victor Croglio led the victors with a 3 for 5, three RBI afternoon.
Ali Simpson was the winner on the mound with seven strikeouts in six innings pitched.
Sanchez Gartman drove in two Rebels runs.
Haymarket 10, Front Royal 9
Sam Greenberg's sacrifice fly in the bottom of the ninth scored Scott Van Dusseldorp from third base to complete Haymarket's comeback victory over Front Royal. Heading into the bottom of the eighth, the Cardinals held an 8-1 lead only to see the Senators score eight runs in the eighth to take a 9-8 lead.
Front Royal tied it in the top of the ninth, setting the stage for Greenberg's heroics in the ninth.
The win keeps Haymarket in the playoff race and prevented Front Royal from clinching the North Division until Winchester was defeated by Fauquier 30 minutes after the completion of the Haymarket contest.
Woodstock 7, Luray 5
Woodstock jumps out to an early lead, allows Luray back into the contest and then scores twice in the seventh to prevent the Wranglers from clinching the Central. The River Bandits win, coupled with New Market's loss at Harrisonburg, pushes Woodstock into second place in the Central.
