Monday Make-Up

Woodstock 5, Rockbridge 4

Rockbridge starter Dominic Favazza rebounded from a slow start to retire 21 straight Woodstock batters before surrendering a walk to Gerardo Caceres in the ninth.  Unfortunately for the Rapids, this would prove to be the beginning of the end as the River Bandits scored three unanswered in the frame to escape with the 5-4 win.

Stephen Hunt had two of Woodstock's three hits and drove in a pair of runs.

Luray 7, Covington 6

Ben Bunting drew a ninth-inning walk and eventually scored on a Covington error to give Luray a 7-6 win over the Lumberjacks.

Pablo Bermudez had three RBI for the Wranglers and Andrew Longley was 3 for 4 for Covington.

New Market 5, Harrisonburg 3

George Carroll had three of the Rebels 10 hits as New Market won a Central Division game over Harrisonburg.

Steve Owens improved to 4-1 on the mound and Brian Burgess notched his sixth save of the summer.

Thomas Nichols had two hits for the Turks.

Fauquier 5, Winchester 2

BJ Martin and Jack VanLeur combined to strike out eight Winchester hitters against seven hits and two runs in a 5-2 Fauquier victory.

Justin Wilson had two hits for the Gators and Steven Sabins was 2 for 3 for the Royals, who have lost five straight.
