VBL Divisional Teams Announced
WINCHESTER, Va. - A total of 33 players have been honored by the Valley League in 2009 All-Valley teams released Thursday by the league office.
This past season, the Valley League competed in three divisions of four teams each. 2009 Lineweaver Cup Champions Haymarket led the way five selections in the North Division while Staunton had the same number in the South.
New Market, a playoff participant, paced the Central with four selections with Front Royal, Woodstock and Waynesboro having three each in the North, Central and South, respectively.
Eleven of the 12 teams in the league had at least one player named to the All-Valley divisional teams.
The 2010 Valley League slate opens on Thursday, June 3 when Harrisonburg hosts New Market.
