Haymarket Up Another Spot

STAUNTON, Va. - The Haymarket Senators improved their position in the PG CrossChecker Weekly Top 30 Summer Baseball rankings in a poll released Monday morning by the organization.

Haymarket, who awaits the lowest-seeded victor in the quarterfinal round after finishing off a sweet of New Market Wednesday night, holds down the No. 8 spot in the CrossChecker poll after being ranked ninth last week.

The Senators are one of three VBL teams mentioned in this week’s poll.  Luray found itself back in the Top 30 at No. 26 after being under consideration along with the Winchester Royals last week. Winchester, which trails sixth-seeded Harrisonburg 1-0 in the first round of the playoffs, remains as one of the additional teams receiving consideration in this week’s poll.

Haymarket, the defending Lineweaver Cup champions, have now been in the Top 30 poll for the last month. The 'Nators entered the poll at No. 27 the first week of July.
