Players of the Week

Haymarket and Harrisonburg grab week four VBL Pitcher and Player of the Week selections in picks announced Monday by the league office.


Rudy Flores, a first baseman for the Haymarket Senators (Corpus Christi Texas/Florida International) earns Player of the Week honors with Drew Granier from the Harrisonburg Turks (Thibodaux, La./ Louisiana-Monroe) taking Pitcher of the Week accolades.

For Flores, it is the second time in three weeks that he has been named as the league’s Player of the Week.

Player: Rudy Flores, Haymarket. Flores had a .588 batting average on the week with 10 hits in 17 at-bats. He also drove in four runs and finished with a .882 slugging percentage, two doubles and a homerun.


Pitcher: Drew Granier, Harrisonburg. Granier, with a 0.00 ERA last week, improved his record to 3-0 after pitching a complete game shutout against the Rockbridge Rapids. In 9.0 innings of play, the Turk scattered four hits, did not walk a batter and struck out 11.
