Player of the Week Selections

The Haymarket Senators and Waynesboro Generals seize the Player and Pitcher of the Week selections for week seven of play in picks announced Monday by the league office.

Brant Jones (Richmond, Va./Longwood) earns Player of the Week honors while Taylor Sandefur (Mechanicsville, Va./Western Carolina) is selected as the Pitcher of the Week.

Brant Jones, Haymarket. Last week, Jones had 14 hits in 30 at-bats, managing a double and triple in the mix. The Senator led the league with 12 runs batted in along with four homeruns assisting his team to wins in five of their last six outings.

Taylor Sandefur, Waynesboro. Sandefur adds two wins to his record last week, making him 7-0 on the mound this summer.  The General pitched 15.1 innings, allowing just three earned runs off of seven hits. He also had a league-leading 13 strikeouts and ended the week with a 1.76 ERA.
