Front Royal 9, Covington 0
Blake Ford throws a four-hit shutout to lead Front Royal to a 9-0 victory over visiting Covington. The win is the third straight for the Cardinals, who got four strikeouts from Ford.
Sean Jamieson led a 13-hit Front Royal attack with two hits and three RBI.
Sherman Johnson had one of the 'Jacks four hits.
Rockbridge 3, New Market 2
Host Rockbridge runs its winning streak to five games with a 3-2 victory over New Market. AJ Holland struck out six and allowed just two unearned runs on four hits in 7.0 innings to earn the victory.
Andrew Siano had two RBI and Bryan Henry was 3 for 3 to lead the Rapids offense.
Kevin Brown has two hits for the Rapids.
Haymarket 2, Luray 1
Jimmy Vahalik has a two-run walkoff single to push league-leading Haymarket past Luray 2-1. Matt Doyle records the final two outs in the ninth to earn the win.
Luray scored its run via a hit by pitch in the top of the ninth.
Woodstock 5, Winchester 4
The Bandits scored two runs in top of 11 on RBI hits by Billy
Barber and Erich
Fernandez to top the Royals 5-4. The Royals scored one run in bottom of 11th, but could not get the equalizer.
Mike Garza added a 2-run HR for the Bandits.
For the Royals Kevin Brashears was 3 for 6.
Staunton 12, Waynesboro 1
Ben Alsup ran his record to 4-0 with 5.1 shutout innings Thursday to lead Staunton to a 12-1 victory over Waynesboro. Alsup allowed just three hits and struck out four. He did not walk a batter.
Steve Scoby, Patrick Braswell and Mike Spano each finished 2-for-4 with two RBIs to lead the Braves offense.
Andrew Turocy had two of the Generals five hits.
