Friday Night Lights

Harrisonburg 5, Front Royal 3

Harrisonburg gets its first home win in July as they took down Front Royal 5-3.  Shaun Cooper went 4 for 4 and Scott Dalrymple added three hits, an RBI, and scored once for the Turks. 

Drew Gadaire was the only Cardinal with multiple hits and Will Walsh scored twice. 

TJ Jackson went the full nine innings where he gave up six hits, two earned, walked four, struck out six, and picked up his third win. 

Winchester 11, Staunton 4

Winchester scores six runs in the fourth on its way to an 11-4 victory over Staunton. Kevin Brashears and Raymond Church had two hits each for the Royals.  

For the Braves, Armani Johnson and Stephen Branca had solo HR's.

Luray 9, Rockbridge 6

Jonathan Griffin hits a walk-off grand slam to key a 9-6 Luray victory over Rockbridge.

The loss snaps a five-game winning streak for the Rapids.

Griffin finished his evening 2 for 5 with seven RBI while Sanchez Gartman drove in four for Rockbridge.

Haymarket 13, New Market 4

League-leading Haymarket bangs out 15 hits in a 13-4 victory over New Market. Yoandy Barroso leads this group with two hits, including a home run, and four RBI.

Eight of the nine Senators starters have at least one hit.

Kevin Brown is 3 for 4 for the Rebels.

Waynesboro 15, Woodstock 14 (12 inn)

Trailing by four runs after Woodstock takes a 14-10 lead in the top of the 12th, Waynesboro rallies with five in the bottom of the frame to win 15-14.
