Covington uses a fast start to key an 8-2 victory over Harrisonburg. The 'Jacks score six runs in the first two innings with Robby Stahl driving in a pair on a second inning single.
Stahl, Mike Martinez and Robby Selsor all drive in two for Covington.
Ruben Sosa and Shaun Cooper have two hits each for the Turks.
Matt Zahel allowed two earned runs on six hits in 5 2/3 innings to help Winchester to a 6-4 win at Waynesboro. Zahel also had seven strikeouts.
Raymond Church led the Royals with three hits and drove in two runs with Cory Spangenberg and Timothy Cross added two hits each.
Jared King led the Generals with three hits and two RBI.
Luray 5, Staunton 3
Host Luray scores one run in each of its last three at-bats to rally for a 5-3 victory over Staunton.
Joel Capote and Ryan Lashley each have two RBI for the Wranglers, with Lashley also getting two hits.
Todd Brazeal is 2 for 4 for the Braves.
Haymarket 15, Rockbridge 1
Haymarket scores 15 runs on 15 hits to blow out Rockbridge 15-1. The Senators score at least one run in every at-bat except the seventh with Brant Jones leading the way by getting five hits in six at-bats and driving in four.
Bryan Henry has three of the Rapids four hits.
Front Royal 7, New Market 5
Host Front Royal pushes itself back over the .500 mark with a 7-5 win over New Market. Dan Smith is the winning pitcher, allowing three runs in seven hits in 6.0 innings.
Pete Greskoff and Greg Van Sickler both went 3 for 4 with two RBI for the Cards and Kevin Brown was 3 for 4 with three RBI for the Rebels.
