Haymarket 4, Staunton 2
Matt Benedict improved to 2-0 on the year with seven strikeouts in the first 6.0 innings of Haymarket’s 4-2 home win over Staunton. Zeth Stone and Jim Vihalik each had two hits to pace the offense.
Chris Clinton led the Braves with a 3 for 5 evening.
Front Royal 7, Rockbridge 0
Greg Van Sickler tossed 7.0 innings of shutout ball, scattering four hits and striking out eight, to help Front Royal to a 7-0 whitewash of Rockbridge. Four players had two hits each with Stephen Rogers getting two hits and two RBI.
Chris Greiner struck out five in the losing effort for the Rapids.
Harrisonburg 7, Woodstock 6
A three-run eighth pushed visiting Harrisonburg past Woodstock 7-6. Reuben Sosa had a two-run double to tie the game before Terrence Jackson plated Sosa with the game-winning run on a fielder's choice.
Daniel Rockhold had two hits for the River Bandits.
