Harrisonsburg and Waynesboro post comeback victories Sunday evening.
Harrisonburg 5, Winchester 4, 13 inn
In a game that featured 28 K's and 14 walks, the Turks scored the winning run in the 13th on a wild pitch after loading the bases with two walks and a hit batter. Connor Winn led the victors with three hits while Dan Scheffler had a solo HR to briefly put the Royals ahead 4-3.
Terrance Jackson picked up the win in 5.0 innings of relief.
Waynesboro 7, Haymarket 5
Trailing 5-0 in the middle of the third, Waynesboro rallies for a 7-5 home win over Haymarket. Terrell Thompson had a three-run triple in the fourth to tie the game at 5-5 before Zephan Guyear wins it with a two-run double in the seventh.
Taylor Sandefur, the second of four Generals relievers, earned the win.
Sean Lyons was 3 for 4 for Haymarket.
Woodstock 9, New Market 6
The River Bandits score six runs in the sixth and then hold on for a 9-6 victory at New Market. Derek Vigoa, Ryan Garcia and Billy Barber all have two hits for Woodstock with Garcia driving in a pair.
Jordan Owen was 3 for 4 with two RBI for the Rebels.
Rockbridge 9, Covington 7
The Rapids score seven runs in the first three innings before coasting home to the 9-7 victory at Covington. The 'Jacks did make things interesting with a five-run fifth.
Chris Love had three hits and Sanchez Gartman five RBI for the victors with Brandon Turner driving in three for Covington.
Staunton 8, Front Royal 7, 10 inn
Andrew Bartlett’s two-out bases-loaded single in the bottom of the 10th inning lifted the Staunton Braves to an 8-7 victory Sunday over Front Royal.
The Cards took a 5-2 lead into the eighth, but the Braves scored five times to lead 7-5. Front Royal then answered with two runs in the ninth to send the game into extra innings.
Joey Cuda pitched 1.2 innings of hitless relief to pick up the victory. Todd Brazeal was 3-for-5 with three runs scored and one RBI. AJ Albee led the Cardinals with a 4-for-5 effort at the plate with three RBIs.
