Wednesday Night Review

Winchester 6, Rockbridge 4

Charles Steinman (3-0) scattered two runs on six hits in 7.0 innings to earn the victory as Winchester topped Rockbridge 6-4. Cory Spangenberg went 3 for 4 with an RBI while Daniel Scheffler and Jacob Morley added a pair of runs batted in each. 

Sanchez Gartman had a double and scored a run for Rockbridge in the second.

Haymarket 11, Harrisonburg 3

Haymarket got out to an early lead and didn't look back in an 11-3 victory at Harrisonburg.  Scott Ferrara led the Senators offense with three hits in three at-bats and had a pair of RBI and two runs scored. 

Joe Huber had two hits for the Turks.

Woodstock 5, Staunton 2

Woodstock scored four runs in the top of the ninth to rally for a 5-2 victory over Staunton.

Daniel Rockhold drove home the tying run with a single and Michael Garza followed with a double to give the River Bandits a 3-2 lead. Vince Voiro pitched eight innings and allowed just two runs on three hits to get the win. Rockhold was 3-for-4 and Billy Barber was 2-for-4 with a solo homer for the winners.

Justin Bagbey drove in both runs for the Braves with a double and a solo homer.

Covington 14, Waynesboro 5

The Lumberjacks exploded for nine runs in the final three innings to blow out Waynesboro 14-5. Five different players had at least two hits each for the victors.

Grant Fillipitch and Andrew Tourcy had three hits each for the Generals.
