Wednesday Wrap

Harrisonburg 5, Front Royal 4

Harrisonburg jumps out to a five-run lead after four innings and hold on for a 5-4 victory over visiting Front Royal. Terrance Jackson was 2 for 3 with two runs scored, Bobby Brown had a two-run HR in the fourth and Patrick Savage went 3 for 4 with a run scored and a RBI for the Turks.

Front Royal's Will Walsh added a solo HR in the sixth. 

Luray 5, Rockbridge 1

Three Luray pitchers hold host Rockbridge to just four hits in a 5-1 win over the Rapids. Kevin Carlow gets the win, striking out nine in 6.0 innings.

Three players, including Ryan Lashley, have two hits apiece for the Wranglers. Lashley also has an RBI.

Chris Love and Sanchez Gartman each have two hits for Rockbridge.

Woodstock 5, Waynesboro 2

Vince Voiro allows two runs on five hits and four walks in 6.0 innings to help Woodstock to a 5-2 win over host Waynesboro. JD Ingalls recorded the final three outs to pick up his third save.  Richard McVey, Chris Cowell, and Michael Garza each had three hits for the 'Bandits.

Terrell Thompson had two hits to lead the Generals.

New Market 4, Haymarket 3

Brent Mikonis is a perfect 4 for 4 and drives in the winning run in the bottom of the ninth to push host New Market past Haymarket 4-3. Mikionis plates Kenny Mickens with a sacrifice fly to right with no outs to give the Rebels the win.

Austin Schultz drives in two for the Senators.

Winchester 7, Staunton 2

Winchester scored four runs in the first inning and never trailed in a 7-2 victory over Staunton.

Dan Scheffler had the big blow in the first for the Royals with a three-run homer to center.
Jon Jones worked six shutout innings to get the win. He allowed four hits while striking out eight and walking two.

Scheffler was 2-for-4 with three RBIs and J.D. Wallace was 2-for-5 with two RBIs to lead the Winchester offense.

Steve Scoby was 3-for-4 with a double and triple for the Braves.
