Luray 7, New Market 0 (Gm 1 - at NM)
Visiting Luray held New Market to just five hits in a 7-0 shutout in game one of a day-night doubleheader between the two teams.
Jonathan Griffin and Alex Haitsuka had dingers for the Wranglers, with Haitsuka hitting a grand slam in the second.
Luray 9, New Market 1 (Gm 2 - at LUR)
Luray finishes off the day-night doubleheader with a 9-1 home win over New Market. The Wranglers jump all over the Rebels for five runs in the first three innings and coast home to their second victory over their local rival in six hours.
Eric Phillips leads a 14-hit home attack with two hits and two RBI.
Brent Mikionis has a hit and an RBI for New Market.
Haymarket 6, Harrisonburg 4
Host Haymarket rallies from a two-run deficit with two runs in the fourth and one in the fifth to down Harrisonburg 6-4.
Alex Maruri drove in the winning run with a sacrifice fly and Eric Stamets drove in a pair for the Senators.
Patrick Savage had a two-run double for the Turks in the third.
Winchester 11, Rockbridge 7
On the strength of Cody Gaskill's 3-run HR and Dan Scheffler's 2-run dinger, his fifth of the summer, Winchester extended its winning streak to five games with an 11-7 win over Rockbridge. All nine starters for the Royals had at least one hit.
Chris Love had a solo HR for the Rapids and Bryan Henry was 4 for 5.
Waynesboro 11, Covington 7
Visiting Waynesboro was out-hit by host Covington, but did enough damage to come out on top 11-7 over the 'Jacks.
Andrew Tourcy had four RBI for the Generals, including two in the third on a bases loaded single to center.
Matt Martinez had two hits, including a home run, for Covington.
Staunton 9, Woodstock 5
Staunton sends 10 men to the plate in the fifth inning on its way to a 9-5 victory over host Woodstock. Stephen Branca drives in five runs for the Braves with three of them coming via a fifth-inning home run.
Mike Garza paces a group of three 'Bandits players with two hits each.
