Tuesday Night Wrap

Harrisonburg 3, Luray 2

Harrisonburg's Shaun Cooper put his club ahead with a 2-run HR off of the scoreboard in the fourth inning and Harrisonburg went on to a 3-2 win over Luray. 

Eric Phillips went 3 for 4 with a run scored for the Wranglers and Stephen Kohlscheen was the winning pitcher.

Rockbridge 10, Woodstock 7

Rockbridge scores nine runs in the first two innings and coasts to the 10-7 victory over Woodstock.  Chris Greiner earned the win and Andy Smithmeyer pitched 4.0 strong innings for his first save of the summer.  Chris Love continued his hot hitting, going 4 for 5 with a double, two runs scored and two RBI. 

Billy Barber, Vince Voiro and Daniel Rockhold all had two RBI for the River Bandits.


Front Royal 8, Waynesboro 5

Greg Van Sickler paced a 17-hit Front Royal attack with four hits in five at-bats and Andy Drexel was 3 for 5 to help the Cards to an 8-5 win over Waynesboro.

Cody Hudson and Grant Fillipitch had two hits each to lead the Generals.

New Market 7, Winchester 5

Host New Market jumps out to a 7-1 lead and holds on for a 7-5 victory over Winchester. Jordan Owen leads the Rebels attack with three hits in three at-bats.

The Royals have 12 hits on the night, including two each from Cory Spangenberg, Raymond Church, Daniel Scheffler, Kevin Brashears and Colby Gratton.

Covington 10, Staunton 8

Covington scored four runs in the top of the first inning and held on in the final innings to defeat Staunton 10-8.

Casey Selsor was 3-for-4 with four runs scored and Robby Stahl was 3-for-3 with four RBIs to lead the 'Jacks offense. Benedy Mejia pitched two scoreless innings to record the save.

Alex Guerra was 2-for-3 with three RBIs to lead the Braves.
