Covington 6, Staunton 2

Host Covington scores a pair of runs in the bottom of the first before breaking things open with three runs in the fourth and one in the fifth on its way to a 6-2 victory over Staunton.

Mike Martinez had two of the ‘Jacks seven hits and drove in a run.

Patrick Braswell and Justin Bagbey had two hits each for the Braves.

Harrisonburg 3, Luray 2

Drew Granier struck out 12 in a complete game performance and Patrick Savage had a pair of home runs to lead Harrisonburg past Luray 3-2.

Bobby Brown and Scott Dalrymple added two hits each for the Turks.

Brian DeLucia drove in two for the Wranglers.

Waynesboro 9, Front Royal 6

Daniel Bradshaw allowed six runs on eight hits in 7 2/3 innings, but it was enough for a 9-6 Waynesboro victory at Front Royal.  

Cody Hudson was 3 for 4 with 2 RBI for the Generals while Andrew Turocy had three hits in six at-bats.

Matt Holland led the Cardinals going 2 for 4 with 3 RBI and James Roche was 2 for 3 with a run batted in.

New Market 14, Winchester 4

Jordan Owen had two home runs, including a grand slam, to power New Market to a 14-4 win over Winchester. Owen, who was 5 for 6 with six RBI, was one of three Rebels with dingers on the evening.

Raymond Church drove in three for the Royals on a bases-clearing double.

Woodstock 7, Rockbridge 0

Vince Voiro struck out 11 in 6.0 innings to help host Woodstock to a 7-0 win over Rockbridge. 

Erich Fernandez had three hits, including a home run, to pace the 'Bandits offense.

Chris Greiner gave up two runs on five hits and two walks in 5.0 innings of a losing effort for the Rapids.
