Woodstock 12, Covington 2
Visiting Woodstock bangs out 17 hits in a 12-2 win over Covington. Eight of nine ‘Bandits hitters reach base safely in the game with Buddy Sosnoskie and Mike Garza getting four hits each.
Richie McVey and Daniel Rockhold back them up by driving in three runs each.
Sherman Johnson and Mike Martinez have two hits apiece for the Lumberjacks.
Haymarket 4, Front Royal 3
Host Haymarket keeps its hold on first place in the Valley League with a 4-3 victory over Front Royal.
The Senators do all of their damage in the fifth, scoring four runs on four hits. Alex Murari leads the victors with two hits and two RBI.
Will Walsh and AJ Albee have two hits each for the Cards.
Luray 11, Winchester 6
A seven-run fifth pushes Luray to an 11-6 victory over visiting Winchester. The Wranglers sent 10 men to the plate in that fifth inning with Mike Broad, Nick Rickles and Jonathan Griffin driving in two runs each on a single, double and home run, respectively.
Tim Cross is 2 for 4 for the Royals.
New Market 3, Harrisonburg 2 (10 inn)
Host New Market converts a hit batsmen and two singles into the winning run in a 3-2, 10 inning victory over Harrisonburg.
With two outs, Jordan Owen is hit, moves into scoring position on a Brent Mikionis single and then scores when Dan Schafferman drills a walk-off single.
Bobby Brown and Scott Dalrymple have two hits each for the Turks.
Rockbridge 1, Staunton 0
Three Rockbridge hurlers combined on a four-hit shutout Saturday as the Rapids edged Staunton 1-0.
A.J. Holland allowed four hits in seven innings to pick up the victory. He struck out six and walked three. Andy Smithmeyer recorded the final two outs in the bottom of the ninth to get the save.
Rockbridge scored in the first when Williams Smalls led off with a double and later scored on a groundout by Sanchez Gartman.
Joey Cuda took the loss, allowing just three hits in six innings.
