Host Rockbridge wins its team-record fourth straight game as Chris
Griener strikes out 11 in a 4-2 victory over Waynesboro.
William Smalls knocked in an early run in the second and Andrew Siano had a two-run single in the eighth. Three other Rapids players had multiple hits, including Mike Caddell with three.
Chase Worthington was 2 for 4 with two RBI for the Generals.
Front Royal 4, Winchester 1
Front Royal snaps a seven-game losing streak with a 4-1 home victory over Winchester.
James Roche was 3 for 5 and Matt Holland was 2 for 4 for the Cards and Ricky Ott allowed one run on two hits in 5 1/3 innings for the victory.
Steve Sabins had one of the Royals hits.
Harrisonburg 7, Staunton 5
Drew Granier pitched seven strong innings Tuesday to lead the Harrisonburg Turks to a 7-5 victory over Staunton.
Granier allowed just two runs, one earned, on two hits. He struck out 11 and walked four. Stephen Styck picked up his fifth save with 1.1 innings of scoreless relief.
Caleb Bowen led the Turks offense, going 3-for-4 with two RBIs.
Steve Scoby had two of Staunton’s three hits on the night.
