Season Finale
Harrisonburg 1, Waynesboro 0 (Game 1)
Bobby Brown had two hits and the only RBI of the game to push
Harrisonburg past Waynesboro 1-0. Grant Fillipitch is the
only General to have multiple hits. Austin Johnson allowed
five hits in 5 1/3 innings of scoreless work to pick up the
win.
Waynesboro 8, Harrisonburg 4 (Game 2)
Waynesboro salvages a split of the season ending doubleheader with
Harrisonburg by downing the Turks 8-4.
The victory also gives the Generals the No. 5 seed by virtue of its 3-2 advantage in the season series with Harrisonburg.
Jon Cinard went 3 for 4 and Andrew Turocy 2 for 2 with a three run HR to lead the Waynesboro offense.
Connor Winn and Shaun were the only Turks to have multiple hits tonight.
Winchester 20, Woodstock 6
Winchester closes out the regular season with a 20-6 victory over
Woodstock.
Nathan Minnich had three home runs, including a grand slam, along with seven RBI for the Royals. Cory Spangenberg and Matt Faiman also homered for the Royals and Cody Gaskill had 4 RBI.
For the 'Bandits, Billy Barber had two HR's and Chris Cowell chipped in with one.
Haymarket 15, Front Royal 14
Haymarket wins a wild one, taking out Front Royal 15-14.
The two teams combined for 42 hits in the game with the Senators posting 22 of those.
All but one starter in the game had at least one hit, with Front Royal having six players with multiple hits and Haymarket eight.
Brant Jones drove in four for the Senators and Andy Drexel matched him for the Cards.
Luray 6, New Market 5
Luray pushes local rival New Market into the eight seed with a 6-5 come-from-behind victory.
Jonathan Griffin is 5 for 5 with four RBI for the Wranglers and Jordan Owen 3 for 4 with three RBI for the Rebels.
Rockbridge 4, Covington 0
Rockbridge closes out its season on a positive note, shutting out Covington 4-0 as Ian Dickson throws a no-hitter.
Dickson struck out 17 and walked just three in throwing the first gem in two seasons in the VBL.
Chris Love paces the Rapids with two hits and four RBI.
